Members of Israel’s Haredi community--the poorest and fastest-growing Jewish community in the country--are raised from childhood to devote themselves to full-time Torah study and a holy way of life. As they marry and begin to raise families, financial pressures quickly overwhelm them. This is an unsustainable reality for Israel, both socially and economically. Gain an in-depth understanding of the issues and demographics underlying this critical challenge for Israel, and find out how culturally sensitive programs and unique ventures are bringing employment skills and jobs to this traditional community, while innovative approaches are finding ways for Haredim to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces, a key path to social integration in the country.
